Thank you for a review of "RACE" that does not compare the play solely to other Mamet works. I like that you looked at the play as a separate entity. I totally agree with your assessment. As you said, it is like an "academic debate, not the way people really talk"...it is a Mametian world, and I am only too happy to visit there once and awhile.

I have seen the play on several occassions already and continue to discover pieces of dialogue I missed during the previous viewings. Mamet's words and the excellence of Spader's and Grier's performances make it a good show to attend more than once.
